MUTANANNY Playtest

MUTANANNY is a gritty post-apocalyptic role-playing game (RPG) where you and your friends play as degenerate, garbage-dwelling, fun-loving Mutants just trying to make it through their next awful day. Scavenge for junk, earn your place in the dump where you live, forge bonds with other hideous weirdoes, struggle to survive the muggy terrors of the moistlands, and deal with insufferable pure-strain humans diving down from the moon to reclaim their rightful place in the world.

Distinctive Features

The post-apocalyptic genre is a crowded one. To help you decide if this game is the right way to indulge the yearning for ruin lying within you, here are a few of its most vivid features:   

• Soggy Apocalypse: Human civilization ended primarily due to the slow-motion disaster of climate change. This game takes place in the swamps and marshes of Delmarva on the eastern shore of what was once the United States, year 2134.
• No Humans Allowed: you will not be playing as human survivors. Instead, you are the monsters that took their place. Mutants: hideous human offshoots whose bodies stave off worldly pollution by frequent change.
• Mundane Mutation: while the rapid at-will changes are weird, these are still biological changes. Psychic or magical Mutations are nonexistent or mere con artistry.
• Road Closure: huge gas guzzlers would only get stuck in the mud. Only off-road vehicles, swamp boats, or beating feet get you anywhere. The sea is nigh-impassible, crawling with monstrous crabs that can pry a boat apart in minutes.

The current fully playable playtest version of MUTANANNY is 129+ pages in 6” x 9” trade book format. This game runs on METTLE Core, a hybrid dice pool system that prompts for dramatic twists on failed rolls. Sections include an introduction, character creation, engine (system basics), scenes and actions, resources, setting details, and guidance.
